Mrs. Cross, a native of Como, N.C., was a former resident of Franklin. She was the widow of Clyde Cross. She was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church, Southampton County. Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Anne C. Clark of Chesapeake; two sons, Ernest Cross of Hampton and Robert Cross Sr., of Portsmouth; a sister, Eliza Rountree of Portsmouth; a brother, Waverly Turner of Suffolk; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sycamore Baptist Church by the Revs. Reginald Warren and David Thornton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Wright Funeral Home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday.
