He was the son of the late Eddie and Bertie Edwards Cross, of Southampton County, and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Annie Mae Turner Cross, one daughter Mildred Ann Cross, and two sons Earnest and Robert Cross, all of Franklin; three grandchildren; two half sisters, Miss Mildred Cross, of Richmond, and Mrs. Mollie Coleman, of Stevenville. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. L.M. Kanipe. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery.
