A native of Southampton County, he was a retired logger and farmer. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Survivors include a son, William T. Cross, Sr. of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Olie Hines of Winton, N.C., a brother, Harvey Cross of Franklin, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. to W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James Luck. Burial will be in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery.
