Holland Chapel by the Rev. Charles V. Spivey. Burial was in Capron Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Camp Marks, R.F. Marks Jr., David H. Bell, Marks Turner, W.B. Gillette, Trent Fox, Lon S. Marks and Iva H. Barham. A native of Southampton County, he owned and operated Midfield Farm most of his life. He was the husband of Nancy Mason Crichton. Surviving besides his wife, are four daughters, Mrs. Jere R. Detwiler of Jacksonville, N.C., Miss Jane Crichton of Richmond, Mrs. Dan Cox of Capron and Miss Susan Crichton of Capron; three brothers, F.B. Crichton of Capron, E.W. Crichton of Capron and Dick Crichton of San Antonio, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. W.A. Hawkins Sr. of Carson, Mrs. Eddie Chiatt of Norfolk, Mrs. Margarette Powers of Norfolk and Mrs. Sallie Hatton of St. Petersburg, Fla.; also two grandsons and two granddaughters.
