All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BARBARA HINES CARSON RICHMOND - A funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Hines Carson of 7520 Wentworth Avenue, Richmond, was conducted Saturday [sic; Friday*], Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. C. Traynham Topping of Lake Sedi Methodist Church in Bennett Funeral Home. Burial was in Westhampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Norwood Cheeley, John Carson, Beverly Carson, David Kolb, Gerald Woodburg, Clawons Barbour, John Simon, Virgil Hughes and Andrew Hromyact. Mrs. Carson, died Thursday, Nov. 11 [sic; Wed, Nov. 10*] in a local hospital. A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of Baylis R. Carson Jr., and a daughter of the late Richelieu and Mrs. Daisy Ellis Hines. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Miss Barbara Hines Carson; one son Baylis R. Carson III; five sisters, Mrs. James H. Lassiter, Mrs. Norwood Cheeley of Richmond, Mrs. Dahlia H. Powell of Wakefield, Mrs. Horace Wright of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. J.C. Shearin of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; three brothers, Yancey Colman Hines of Greensboro, N.C., Richelieu C. Hines Jr., of La Crosse, Dr. Frederick W. Hines of Falls Church.
