He was a native of Isle of Wight County, a son of Mrs. Bernice Griffin Carter and the late Isaac Lee Carter. He was a graduate of Windsor High School and a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Besides his mother, surviving are two half-sisters, Mrs. W.C. Eure of Whaleyville and Mrs. S.C. Bristow of Franklin. A funeral service was held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Trump of Colosse Baptist Church and the Rev. S.C. Sutton of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Burial was in Griffin family cemetery near Franklin. Pallbearers were Joseph L. Nelms, Jasper Carr Jr., Wilson Holland, Jr., Bobby Duck, Kelly Blythe, Jr., and Edward H. Blythe Jr., Burnley Lee CARTER, Isle of Wight Co. native*, d. 6 Oct 1964, Richmond, age 19, interred in the GRIFFIN family cemetery**, Black Creek Rd. at Burdette Rd., 9 Oct 1964, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), Oct. 15, 1964, Sect.
