He resided at Burlington, N.C. and was an agent for the Charlotte Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Co. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alice Cobb Carriker, one son, Charles A. Carriker of North Andover, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Claud Jones of Erwin, Tenn., three brothers, Paul Carriker and Ralph Carriker, both of Bluefield, W. Va. and Carl Carriker of Miami, Fla., five grandchildren. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, 2:20 p.m. in McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins. Interment Drewryville Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. P.J. Mattox of Drewryville. ****************************************************************************** JOHN RAYMOND CARRIKER BURLINGTON, N.C. - A funeral service for John Ray Carriker of Burlington, N.C. was held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the McDowell Funeral Home in Boykins by the Rev. Daniel M. Spell. Burial was in Drewryville Cemetery. The pallbearers were Jerry Mattox, Stan Mattox, Paul Cobb, Ellis Cobb, C.D. Cobb, Jr., Albert Cobb, William Drewry and Jimmie McCrary. A native of Kimball, W.Va., he was the husband of Mrs. Alice Cobb Carriker, and a son of John and Mrs. Lucinda Brinkley Carriker. He was an agent with Charlotte Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and was a member of the West Newbert Presbyterian Church, the United Travelers Assn., and was a mason. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Alice Cobb Carriker; a son Charles Allen Carriker of North Andover, Mass.; one sister Mrs. Claud Jones of Erwin Tenn.; three brothers, Paul Carriker and Ralph Carriker both of Bluefield, W.Va., and Carl Carriker of Miami, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
