LORENZO OSMORE* CRUTCHLOW

   COURTLAND - Lorenzo Osmore Crutchlow, 88, retired farmer, died Saturday 
at 9:30 a.m. at his home here after months of illness.

   A son of John and Mary Gray Crutchlow, he was a lifelong resident of 
Southampton County and a member of Boykins Methodist Church.

   Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucy Cobb Crutchlow; four daughters, Mrs. 
George Brown of Greenville, N.C., Mrs. Turner Lassiter and Mrs. Joseph Lee of 
Boykins and Mrs. Edward Hudson of Courtland, with whom he resided; three sons 
Lenton O. Crutchlow of Emporia, Joel T. Crutchlow of Williamsburg and Elmo 
Crutchlow of Norfolk; a brother, Russell Crutchlow of Norfolk; 11 
grandchildren and a great grandson.

   A funeral service was held in Boykins Methodist Church Sunday at 3:30 p.m. 
by the Rev. Harrell G. Thach, pastor, the Rev. William Ferguson of Monumental 
Methodist Church, Emporia, the Rev. C.W. Gibson Jr. of Courtland and the Rev. 
Ben B. Ussery of Boykins Baptist Church.  Burial was in Capron Cemetery.

   Pallbearers were H.H. Ford Jr., R.T. Lassiter, Jr., Marion Lee, Reeves 
Williams, Raymond Edwards and Jack Taylor.
