Brittle. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. She died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Hertford County, N.C.* and a member of Readville Baptist Church of Stony Creek. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Modlin and Mrs. Barbara Harrell of Franklin, Mrs. Emily Cundgren of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Jane Worrell of Courtland, Mrs. Juliet Moore and Mrs. Marjorie Burgess of Richmond; two sons, Homer Carter of Las Vegas, Nev. and Lawrence Carter of Stony Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Velesta Mann of Pendleton, N.C. and Mrs. Janice Chitty of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a brother, Coy Martin of Pendleton; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
