Drewry in Boykins after a short illness. She was a native of Southampton County, and was the daughter of the late Dixon Carter and Mrs. Martha Hill Carter. She made her home with the late Joseph T. Barnes family for 35 years, moving to Boykins in 1922 to live in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Moore, later making her home with Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Drewry. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Drewry home at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Frank B. Handley, assisted by Rev. C.P. Cleveland of the Newsoms Baptist Church, officiated. Mrs. H.A. Barrett and Mrs. Lee A. Hill sang "Face to Face." The active pallbearers were: H.A. Barrett, Lee A. Hill, John Johnson, S.J. Myrick, Thomas Parker and T.H. Porter.
