All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ HERMAN LEE CAROON Herman Lee Caroon, 54, husband of Mrs. Agnes Norfleet Caroon and son of Thomas Mason Caroon and Virginia Lee Cobb Caroon, died suddenly at his home, 514 N. Main St., Thursday morning. He was a member of the High Street Methodist Church and the Woodmen of the World. Surviving besides his wife are his stepmother, Mrs. Mattie Cutchins Caroon, a foster son, Leon Norfleet Olds; and a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Caroon Butler of Franklin; three brothers, Roy T. Caroon of Lawrenceville, Norman Caroon of Spokane, Wash., and William Caroon of Franklin; two halfsister, Mrs. W.S. Smith of Suffolk and Mrs. Louise Caroon Oskew of Franklin; a half-brother, Mason Caroon, of Franklin, and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. James B. Douglas, pastor of High Street Methodist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Herford Bryant, George Wright, R.A. Ballard, Linwood Howell, Harold Morris, James Jones, Merrit Jordan and Charles Jones.
