TWEEDIE MAY VAUGHAN CRUMPLER 

   SEDLEY - A graveside service for Mrs. Tweedie May Vaughan Crumpler was 
conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Crumpler family cemetery near Sedley by Dr. 
R.E. Brittle.  Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, was in charge.

   Mrs. Crumpler, 89, died Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin, 
after a long illness.

   A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of David M. Crumpler, and 
a daughter of James and Mrs. Betty Owney Vaughan.

   She was a member of Johnson’s Grove Christian Church.

   Surviving are three sons, Lonnie R. Crumpler and Bernard* S. Crumpler of 
Sedley, and Sidney J. Crumpler of Petersburg; 19 grandchildren; and 24 great-
grandchildren.

Likely identical with "MAY CRUMPLER," buried in the CRUMPLER family cemetery 
   off Cottage Hill Rd.  Her sons are buried there, though the list gives one 
   as Burnley, rather than Bernard.

They lost son Dudley M. in 1918; he is likely buried in the same cemetery.
