MILDRED BILLIE PITTMAN CORNWELL

   Miss Billie Pittman Cornwell, 30, of Courtland, wife of Gurney Smith 
Cornwell, Jr., died in Raiford Memorial Hospital early Monday morning, 
September 15.

   A member of the Courtland Methodist Church, she was the daughter of 
William T. and Mrs. Ruth Wood Pittman of Courtland.

   Besides her husband and parents she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. 
Louise P. Brennick of Waltham, Mass., Mrs. Ruth Shiller of Courtland, and 
Mrs. Dorothy P. Howe of Norfolk; a brothers, William T. Pittman, Jr., AUS, 
stationed in Korea; and number of nephews and nieces.

   Last rites for Mrs. Cornwell were conducted at the Courtland Methodist 
Church on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. Otis L. 
Gilliam, assisted by Rev. L.M. Kanipe.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, 
Courtland, the pallbearers being Roy Cornwell, R.M. Dickerson, Milton Futrell, 
G.T. Hundley, Jr., Cedric Pittman, Elmo Pittman, T.T. Tucker and George B. 
Vick, Jr.
