Cornwell, a native of Southampton County, died in a Williamsburg hospital on Friday, September 11. A former car inspector for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad, he was a member of Barrett's Christian Church. Surviving him are a sister, Mrs. Lyela C. Pond of Richmond; and three brothers, A.S. Cornwell of Norfolk, G.S. Cornwell of Jarratt, and L.J. Cornwell of Sedley.* Final rites were conducted at the graveside in the family cemetery near Wakefield on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, with Revs. C.E. Gerringer and James Madren officiating. Pallbearers were J.N. Barker, Bernard Barrett, Hartwell Barrett, L.J. Cornwell, Jr., Charles Kitchen and Ashby Raiford. Oris R.
