JESSE THOMAS DAVIS

   BOYKINS - A funeral service for Jesse Thomas Davis, 86, was held Monday at 
2 p.m. in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, by the Rev. G. Durham Ipock,  McDowell 
Funeral Home was in charge.

   Davis died Sunday in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie, N.C.

   A native of Northampton County, N.C., he was the husband of the late Gladys 
Beale Davis.

   He was a retired salesman and farmer and was a life deacon of Boykins 
Baptist Church.

   Survivors include two daughters, Frances D. Woodard of Norfolk and Edith D. 
Edwards of Pendleton, N.C.; a son, Harold Lewis Davis of Whitakers, N.C.; 
three sisters, Emma Vick of Branchville, Beatrice Simmons of Boykins and Mae 
Schultz of Leesburg; two brothers, Collis Davis and Otis Davis of Branchville; 
two half brothers, Raymond Davis and Bobby Davis of Courtland; 10 
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

   Pallbearers were: Bobby Joe Edwards, Harold Davis, Jimmie Rose, Jerry Rose, 
Drew Dixon, Larry Hatfield, and Leslie Long.
