All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM RAY DAVIDSON FRANKLIN - William Ray Davidson, 50, well-known resident of Franklin, died in Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, early Saturday morning, August 9, after a brief illness. The deceased was the son of Mrs. Sadie Jones Davidson of Franklin and the late William C. Davidson. An employee of Union Bag-Camp Paper Corporation, he was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church and of Suffolk Royal Moose Lodge No. 141. Surviving him, besides his mother, are a sister, Mrs. Robert G. Hunt of Lynchburg, and two nephews. Funeral services were held from the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, with Rev. Tucker Humphries, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Church, and Rev. John S. Steele, pastor of the Franklin Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Members of Moose Lodge No. 141 were the pallbearers.
