Davenport, 38, oil station operator, died at his home Tuesday morning after an illness of many months. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Louise Davenport; five children, Thomas H., Jr., and Wallace Edward Davenport, of Creswell, N.C.; Edna Jane, Dorothy and Hamilton McKinley Davenport, of Franklin; his father, Thomas H. [sic.; F*] Davenport, of Creswell; one sister, Miss Susie Mae Davenport and two brothers, Benjamin A., and Dallas A. Davenport, all of Creswell. Funeral services were conducted from his residence near Camp's Mill, Isle of Wight County, Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock by the Rev. A. McK. Reynolds. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery here. Pallbearers were Pursell Blythe, Wm. A. Blythe, Robert Coggsdale, Fred Edwards, Nolan Jordan and Wm. Cobb. His first wife "Annie" Anna Bell (CLIFTON) DAVENPORT, is buried in the Ben WOODLEY family cemetery, Scuppernong Twp., Washington Co., NC. His parents, "Tom" Thomas Franklin & Annie Janie (WOODLEY) DAVENPORT, are buried in Azalea Memorial Gardens, Columbia, Tyrrell Co., NC.
