All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ PHYLLIS DOUGHTIE DIVVENS News reached Branchville, on Tuesday morning of the sudden death in Los Angeles, Calif., of Mrs. Phyllis Doughtie Divvens, niece of Miss Lona Ellis and Phillip Ellis of Branchville and daughter of the late James Edward and Mrs. Annie Ellis Doughtie of Plymouth, N.C. Mrs. Divvens died in her sleep. She was found by her husband on Wednesday evening March 27, when he returned home from work. Besides her husband, Donald Divvens of Los Angeles, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frank Dew, and a brother, Daryle Doughtie, both of Plymouth, N.C.; also by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Divvens, a former resident of Branchville and Plymouth, were held in Los Angeles on Monday morning, April 1, at 10 o’clock.
