Mrs. de Bordenave was the daughter of the late Rev. Frederick A. Fetter, rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church here from 1904 to 1908. She was born in Edenton, N.C.*, December 19, 1880, the daughter of Mr. Fetter and Mrs. Mary Creecy Armistead, her father being a native of Long Island, N.Y., and her mother of a prominent Norfolk family. Moving to Franklin in 1904 when her father came to this town as Rector of Nottoway Parrish, she was one of our town’s most popular women, her many fine traits of character making her quite a favorite in Franklin where she was poplar socially and one of the most consistent and useful communicants of Emmanuel Church. For many years she had been a member of the Franklin Book Club, and her death is a matter of universal regret throughout the town and section, her passing being unusually sad in view of the condition of Dr. de Bordenave who had been ill for several months.* In January 1906*, she was married to Dr. E.A. de Bordenave, a prominent physician of the town and Postmaster of Franklin for many years. There are two children, Ernest de Bordenave, Jr., a senior at the Virginia Episcopal Seminary, Alexandria, and Miss Jess de Bordenave who teaches in the Boykins High School. She is also survived by two brothers, F.A. Fetter, Jr. of Washington and A. Weddell Fetter of Greensboro, N.C. and by four sisters, Mrs. L.L. Sapp of Badin, N.C., Mrs. W.D. Stocks, of Reidsville, N.C., Mrs. J.S. Webb of Wadesboro, N.C., and Mrs. O.L. Sapp of Greensboro, N.C. Funeral arrangements, which are not complete this morning, will be conducted from Emmanuel Church Saturday morning at 11 o’clock by her son, Ernest de Bordenave, Jr., who is studying for the Episcopal ministry and will receive his orders as Deacon from the Episcopal Seminary in June of this year. Burial will follow in the family plot in Poplar Spring Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** JESSIE FETTER DeBORENAVE Funeral rites for Mrs. E.A.
