HENRY DUCK 

   Henry Duck, 82, died suddenly Thursday at 8:30 a.m.

   He stopped his car at intersection of South Street and High Street in 
Franklin.  Police found him here and called a Holland ambulance.  He was 
dead on arrival at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A funeral service was conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and 
Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. 
Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

   He was a retired merchant and was in business here 48 years.  A native of 
Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of Mrs. Ethel Fowler Duck and a son 
of Claude and Mrs. Mattie Duke Duck.  He was a member of Franklin Baptist 
Church and a charter member of its Bruner Bible Class.

   Besides his widow, survivors include a brother, Claude Duck of Suffolk; 
and two sisters, Mrs. E.C. Allen and Mrs. Claude Spivey of Hampton.

   Pallbearers were C.C. Duck, William Duck, Garland Duck, Irving Duck, 
Clifton Allen, Carlton Cutchin, Kemper Daughtrey and Dan Fowler.
