Johnson, the Rev. R.E. Brittle and Dr. John G. Truitt. Members of the church choir, accompanied by Mrs. I.W. Johnson, sang the hymns, "Sometime We'll Understand," "Does Jesus Care" and "The Old Rugged Cross." There were many handsome floral tributes and a pall of Ascension lilies and fern covered the casket. Active pallbearers were C.B. Godwin, Jr., G.A. Harris, P.G. Cox, H.H. Powell, Joel Harrell, Sr., Wallace Brinkley, G.O. O'Berry, E.B. Rawles. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
