LINA BARNES DUKE Mrs. Lina Barnes Duke, 58, of Courtland died suddenly at the home in Courtland of her daughter, Mrs. Adelle B. Davis, on Thursday, April 16. The deceased was the daughter of the late William David and Rosa Kitchen Barnes of this county. She was a member of the Courtland Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. L.L. Williams, both of Courtland; three sisters, Mrs. K.E. Yelverton of Portsmouth; Mrs. R.G. Carter of Newsoms, and Mrs. E.M. Barkley of Boykins; and two brothers, David Barnes of Waverly and Southgate Barnes of Kansas City, Mo. Services for Mrs. Duke were held at the Courtland Methodist Church on Friday afternoon, with the pastor, Rev. O.L. Gilliam, officiating. Interment was in the cemetery at Newsoms. Acting as pallbearers were R.N. Darden, Jr., Andrew Jenkins, H.B. McLemore, Jr., B.E. Marks, G.W. Nichols, J.T. Story, Jr., B.A. Williams, Jr., and J.D.
