MARVIN LEMUEL DUKE, SR.

   IVOR - Funeral services for Marvin Lemuel Duke Sr., 75, were held 
Saturday in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Revs. Lytle 
Buckingham and John Crocker.  Burial was in Ivor cemetery.

   Pallbearers were chosen from the grandchildren of the deceased.

   The husband of Martha Galtress Duke, died Wednesday in Southampton 
Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

   He was a native of Nansemond County and a retired employee of 
Smithfield Packing Co.  He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church.

   Other survivors include two daughters, Evelyn D. Gregory of Hanahan, 
S.C. and Barbara Gilliland of Woodbridge; two sons, M. Lemuel Duke, Jr. 
of Dinwiddie and Winston C. Duke of Richmond; a sister, Regina D. Raiford 
of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
