Daughtrey, aged 70, well known resident of Nansemond County, the son of the late Ely and Julia Ann Daughtrey, died suddenly Tuesday night at the home here of his sister, Mrs. W.J. Daughtrey. He was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. J.L. Byrd of Suffolk, and Mrs. H.L. Bowler of Criglersville, Va.; two sons Julian T. Daughtrey of Portsmouth, and Norman L. Daughtrey of Franklin; two sisters, Miss Emily Daughtrey and Mrs. W.J. Daughtrey of Franklin and two brothers Elmer L. Daughtrey of Franklin and Joseph R. Daughtrey of Norfolk. Services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the residence of Mrs. J.L. Byrd in Suffolk by the Rev. Robert Lee House of Richmond, assisted by the Rev. Herbert G. Councill of Portsmouth and Dr. Elwood W. Jones of Franklin, his pastor. Interment was in the family burying ground near Franklin, pallbearers being Dr. J.C. Rawls, Howard E. Byrd, Edward Daughtrey, J.O.H. Daughtrey, Herbert Rawls, L.T. Britt, Hurley Daughtrey, Geo. H. Stroud and W.A. Daughtrey. [Joshua T.
