Daughtrey, 74, a retired Franklin business man, died Thursday night at the home of his son, John Allen Daughtrey, of Edwards Street. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Grace Pope Daughtrey and the son of Allen and Mrs. Bettie Norfleet Daughtrey. He was a lifelong resident of the Franklin community, was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church, and of the Woodman of the World. Surviving besides his son, are four daughters, Mrs. J.A. Doran of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. W.S. Ritter and Mrs. William Dures, both of Norfolk, Mrs. Ben E. Crawford of Des Moines, Iowa, 18 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Holland Funeral Chapel here Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Tucker Humphries, pastor of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lawrence J. Johnson, R.A. Johnson, Jr., Donnie Boykins, Edgar V.
