All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LYDIA MARIA DAUGHTREY (DINES) Miss Lydia Maria Daughtrey, 73, a resident of Franklin for the past 36 years, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon, July 6, after a brief illness. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth Norfleet Daughtrey. She was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church and of its Woman’s Missionary Society. Surviving are two brothers, John O.H. Daughtrey and Braxton Rawls Daughtrey, both of Franklin, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Miss Daughtrey were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock by Rev. Harvey L. Carnes, pastor of the deceased. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers; John Allen Daughtrey, J. Lawrence Johnson, Robert A. Johnson, Jr., Frank B. Jones, Charles R. Rawls and Edgar V. Stephenson.
