All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LUTHER FRANKLIN DEALE Luther Franklin Deale, 85, a prominent farmer of the Newsoms community, died at the residence at 6:30 o'clock Wednesday morning, December 17. A member of the Boykins Baptist Church, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Drewry Deale; two sons, William H. Deale of Cradock and James Deale of Newsoms; and three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Williams of Wilmington, N.C., and Mrs. Annie Vincent and Miss Minnie Deale, both of Newsoms. Final rites were held at the grave in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. N.B. Habel, pastor of the deceased, officiating. The casket was covered with a pall of lavender and white chrysanthemums and carnations. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Baracca Bible Class. Active pallbearers were Reuben S. Bryant, Dr. S.H. Dodd, John B. Felts, Russell Gray, J.W. Holland, T.H. Porter, D.B. Rountree and Frank Stephens.
