HUNTER McGUIRE DOLES IVOR - Dr. Hunter McGuire Doles, 70, who practiced in his native Ivor the last five years after four decades as a physician in Norfolk, died Monday in a Norfolk hospital. He was a son of Dr. Julian Thomas and Mrs. Louise Fields Doles. His grandfather also was a doctor. He was the husband of Mrs. Morton Wortham Doles of Ivor, his only survivor. A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, he later attended Harvard University. The MCV Alumni last year awarded Dr. Doles a 50-years pin. He was on the staff of Norfolk General and Leigh Memorial hospitals. He was a member of the Southern Medical Association and Norfolk County Medical Association. He was a veteran of World War I and member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. A funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. E.R. Cornwell. Burial was in Ivor Cemetery. Pallbearers were Crawley Laine, T.K. Monoghan, Fenton Worrell, Earnest W. Pittman, Robert Layne and Dr. Herman Farley.
