WILLIAM DAVID DOWNS

William David Downs, age 29, died September 1, 1973.  He is survived by his 
wife, Mrs. Diane Gaskins Downs; two daughters, Misses Donna Lee and Kathleen 
Layton Downs, his mother and father Mr. & Mrs. G.E. Downs of Emporia; two 
sisters, Mrs. Kay Vincent, Emporia, and Mrs. Elaine Harding, Courtland; his 
grandmother, Mrs. C.R. Hawks of Hugheston, W.Va.; three nephews and one niece. 
He attended Ferrum Junior College and graduated from the University of 
Tennessee.  He was treasurer of the Drewryville Ruritan Club and a member of 
Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, Drewryville.  Remains rest at Echols Funeral 
Home, Emporia, where funeral services will be conducted 2 P.M. Tuesday. 
Interment in Drewryville Cemetery.
