All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ALLETT VERNON DENSON Allett Vernon Denson, 71, lifelong resident of Sebrell, died Friday afternoon, December 7, in Raiford Memorial Hospital after having suffered a stroke several days before. He was the husband of Mrs. Rose Land Denson and the son of the late Robert and Mrs. Lenetta Denson of Southampton County. He was a member of Sebrell Methodist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mertie D. Ashworth of Hopewell, Mrs. Frances D. Phillips of Norfolk and Nina D. Gyoker of Franklin; five sons, Walter E. Denson of Richmond, Allett Vernon Denson, Jr., of New Jersey; James C. and Randolph G. Denson of Franklin and Richard Denson of Texas; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary D. Jenkins of Courtland. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by Rev. C. A. McCormick, Jr., pastor of the Sebrell Methodist Church. Burial was in the Sebrell Cemetery. Active pallbearers were James Harrup, Elmer Harrup, Carlton Hasty, Roy Bess, James Joyner, Monroe White, Jack Jackson and Kenney Jenkins.
