"Red" Denson, 77, of Oyster Pointe, Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and formerly of Plymouth, N.C., died Dec. 20, 2000. Born in Southampton County, Va., on Nov. 7, 1923, Mr. Denson was the son of the late Allett Vernon Denson and Mrs. Rosa Ivey Lane Denson. He was a veteran of World War II and began his career at Union Bag Camp Paper Mill, Franklin, Va., between the years of 1946 and 1965, transferring to the Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. of Plymouth at that time and retiring in 1981 as a superintendent in Fine Paper Production. Surviving are a son, James C. Denson of Nags Head; three daughters, Deborah Waters of Roper, Robyn Dahlen of Morrisville and Pamela Jackson of Winterville; one brother Richard Denson of Grandview, Texas; one half-sister, Mertie Ashworth of Hopewell, Va.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southampton Memorial Park Cemetery, Franklin. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Horner- Walker Funeral Home, Plymouth. James C.
