A native of Newsoms, he was the husband of Mrs. George Leftwich Drake. He was a retired merchant and had served as a member of the Newsoms Town Council from 1945 - 1955. He was also a charter member of the Newsoms Ruritan Club. He was also a member of Newsoms United Methodist Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carol Wynn Majors of Novato, Calif. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the graveside in the Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Arthur W. Green and the Rev. Kenneth Williams. McDowell Funeral Home of Boykins in charge of arrangements.
