All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LENNIE LOUISE DRAKE Mrs. Lennie Louise Drake, 69, a well-known resident of the Newsoms community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Morris Worrell, on Friday, April 25, after an illness of several months. She was the wife of James Franklin Drake and the daughter of the late Samuel and Carolyn Ferguson Drake of this county. She was a member of the Barnes Methodist Church and of its Missionary Society and ladies Bible class. Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Miss Louise Drake, Mrs. George Whitley and Mrs. Morris Worrell, all of Newsoms; three grandchildren, George R. Whitley, Jr., and Riddick and Jimmie Worrell, also of Newsoms; and one brother, A.W. Drake of Boykins. Services for Mrs. Drake were conducted at Barnes Methodist Church on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock by Rev. C.F. Moseley of Norfolk, a former pastor, and Rev. O.L. Gochenour, present pastor of the church. Burial was in Newsoms Cemetery. Pallbearers were Earl W. Bryant, Julian L. Carter, Kemper Daughtrey, Marvin Porter, Ralph Porter, E.B. Prince, Jr., Fred D.
