NONIE SMITH DRAKE

   FRANKLIN - Nonie Smith Drake, 99, died Feb. 28, in a nursing home.

   Mrs. Drake, a Southampton County native, was a member of Boykins Baptist 
Church and the widow of Herbert L. Drake.

   She is survived by a son, Roger W. Drake of Franklin; seven grandchildren; 
and 17 great-grandchildren.

   The funeral was conducted Monday in McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, by the 
Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and Philip Motley.  Burial was in Beechwood Cemetery, 
Boykins.
