RAY ELVIN DRAKE

   Newsoms - A funeral service for Ray Elvin Drake, 59, was held March 2 at 2 
p.m. in McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, Revs. Harry Bunch and Kenneth Williams 
in charge.

   Burial was in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.

   He died in McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond.

   He was a native of Southampton County and husband of the late Mrs. Lorena 
Bryant Drake.

   He was a retired Navy veteran of World War II.

   He was a retired sheet-metal worker and a member of Barnes United Methodist 
Church.

   Survivors include: Mrs. Patricia Johnson of Suffolk; a son, Raymond E. Drake 
of Newsoms; a brother, Emmett E. Drake of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Irene D. 
Bryant of Boykins; and five grandchildren.
