A native of Southampton County, he was a Supervisor with Franklin Equipment Co.; and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Edith Phillips Drake; two sons, Carlton Lee Drake of Charlotte, N.C. and Danny Ray Drake of Franklin; his mother, Mrs. Nonie Smith Drake of Franklin; a brother, Roger W. Drake of Franklin; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins. Burial in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.
