Funeral services were held at the home, Rev. J.P. Essex assisted by Rev. C.H. Kidd officiating. The interment took place in the Newsoms cemetery, with a large crowd of friends and relatives present. He is survived by a wife, Mrs. Caroline Drake, three sons, Luther, Abner and Herbert Drake and one daughter, Mrs. Lennie Drake, all of Boykins community. Samuel DRAKE, of Boykins, b. 28 Apr 1852, near Sands, d. 30 Apr 1922*, interred in Hollywood Cemetery*, Newsoms, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), May 5, 1922 *Additional information: His gravestone also gives d. 30 Apr.
