DURRETTE A funeral service for Wyatt B. Durrette was conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Franklin Baptist Church by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. in the family cemetery at Craigsville. W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home was in charge. Pallbearers were Ernest Evans, Charles F. Kingery, J.R. Howerton, Joe Hamilton, Dr. Robert T. Edwards, Joe Hutt, Paul Camp Marks and Robert C. Ray. Durette, 68, of 507 Ryland St., a retired engineer and teacher, died early Monday in a Richmond nursing home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Beulah Showker Durrette and a son of Elijah D. and Mrs. Addie Beazley Durrette. A native of Stanardsville, he was educated there and at John Marshall High School, Richmond. He was a construction superintendent of E.I. Du Pont Nemoirs Co., and later for W.H. Scott, Inc., Franklin. He worked in 1951 for Union Camp Corp., and retired in 1966. After retirement he was on the faculty of Franklin High School until his illness. He was active in church and community affairs. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Franklin Lions Club. He was a past chairman of the Board of Deacons of Franklin Baptist Church and on the board 16 years. He also had taught Sunday school and was a pass superintendent and a member of Bruner Bible Class. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Faye D. Parson of Richmond; a son, Wyatt B. Durrette Jr. of Vienna; a brother, Davis Durrette of Oakland, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Dolly D. Jarman of Stanardsville; and four grandchildren. [Wyatt B.
