Mrs. Darden was the daughter of the late James M. and Sarah Elizabeth Powell [sic*], of Isle of Wight County. Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Sarah Elizabeth, Virginia DeBerry, Annie Catherine and Betsy Powell Darden, all of Franklin; one step-daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Duncan, of Petersburg; two step-sons, Walter, Edward Darden, Jr. and William Spratley Darden, of Franklin; one step- grandson, Robert L. Duncan, Jr., of Petersburg; two sisters, Mrs. B.B. Rogers, of Courtland, and Mrs. J.C. Bunch, of Isle of Wight County; four brothers, Mac, Joe and John Powell, of Zuni, and Charlie Powell of Suffolk. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. at the grave in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, by the Rev. A.W. Roten, assisted by the Rev. R.D.
