All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CAROLINE BLOUNT PARKER DARDEN Mrs. Caroline Blount Darden, age 75, died in Richmond Tuesday, April 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alvin C. Cooper, after a long illness. Mrs. Darden was born in Sussex County, the daughter of Albert B. Parker and Mary Caroline Powell, and wife of the late James R. Darden of Newsoms. She numbered a host of friends in Newsoms and throughout the county and was a loyal and faithful member of the Newsoms Baptist Church until 1920 when she moved to Richmond to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Cooper, and one son, A. Powell Darden, of Wilmington, Del. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon (today) at 2 o'clock at the graveside in Newsoms conducted by Dr. J.J. Sherer of Richmond and Rev. L.F.
