GEORGIE ANN LITTLE DARDEN 

   NEWSOMS - Mrs. John (Dill) B. Darden Sr., 86, of Newsoms, widely known 
church woman, died Thursday morning in a Charlottesville hospital after a 
long illness.

   She was the former Georgia Little of Littleton and Como, N.C., a daughter 
of George and Mrs. Homoizelle Vann Little.

   She was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church 60 years and taught its Fidleis 
Class more than 50 years.  She also was a member of the Woman’s Missionary 
Society and was active in the church until a short time ago.  She was a member 
of the Williamsburg Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

   Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Homoizelle Burbage of Baltimore; a son, 
William L. Darden of Franklin; three granddaughters, Mrs. William F. Kelly of 
Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Mrs. Thomas I. White of Norfolk and Miss Virginia Lee 
Darden of Williamsburg; and four great-grandsons.

   The funeral procession left W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home Saturday 
at 11:30 a.m. for a funeral service at noon in Newsoms Cemetery by the Rev. 
Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church.

   Pallbearers were George Cabell, Guy Carr Picot, John Q. Worrell, Ralph 
Porter, R.N. Darden, Rosser Bryant, William F. Kelly and Thomas I. White.
