DARDEN, 62, COMPOSITOR FRANKLIN - Lloyd Amidon Darden, 62, a compositor for Tidewater News, 45 years, died early Wednesday in a Norfolk hospital after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, he was a lifelong resident of the Franklin community. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Ellenor Armentrout Darden and a son of the late J. Willard Darden and Mrs. Willie Darden Turbyfill. He was a member of Franklin Bapitst Church and its Bruner Bible Class and as assistant teacher. He formerly was a deacon and usher of the church. He was a member of Pythian Lodge 51 and a past chancellor and member of Lions Club. Besides his widow, surviving are his step father, V.L. Turbyfill of Norfolk, four aunts, and an uncle. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial will be Poplar Spring Cemetery.
