Darden, of Petersburg, while on a visit, were held Monday afternoon, December 26, at 2 o'clock at the grave at Courtland, conducted by the Rev. H.F. Turner of the Courtland Methodist Church. Active pallbearers were Walter Darden, Rudolph Rogers, Burton Darden, Albert Vaughan, Claude Applewhite and D.P. Prince. Mrs. Darden was the wife of the late Walter S. Darden, and was a native of Southampton County. Surviving her are three sons, R.A. Darden of Petersburg; W.E. Darden of Franklin; T.W. Darden of Meridian, Miss.; three brothers, H.B. Vaughan of Norfolk, J.W. Vaughan of Portsmouth and George E. Vaughan of Clarkson; three sisters, Mrs. B.F. Applewhite of Courtland, Mrs. W.L. Loving of Covington and Mrs. M.E. DeBerry of Pendleton, N.C. Mary Frances (VAUGHAN; Mrs. Walter S.)
