DARDEN Mrs. S.A. Darden, the beloved wife of Mr. Sidney A. Darden, died at "Beechwood" her home in Southampton county on Wednesday morning, May 5th, 1920. Mrs. Darden, before marriage, was Miss Sallie S. Summerell, daughter of Dr. William H. Summerell and Marguerite Eleanor Pretlow, his wife, and niece of the late Jordan Denson Pretlow. Her death came as a shock to the community as well as to her loved ones. A devout communicant of the Methodist Episcopal church, she will be greatly missed.
