Irvin of Melvern, Ark., spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. E.K. Brinkley and attended the funeral of her father, W.E. Darden, in Courtland. ****************************************************************************** DEATH OF W. E. DARDEN W.E. Darden, chief of police in Franklin for a number of years, died at the home of his son, Spratley Darden, in Norfolk September 27, burial taking place in Courtland at the graveside of Riverside Cemetery September 30, at 4 o'clock with services conducted by Rev. Percy D. White of the Courtland Methodist Church, of which Mr. Darden was a member. The pallbearers were: Roland, Emmett and Thomas Vaughan, Stuart Sowell, Robert Duncan, Claude Applewhite, Henry Comstock and W.T. Acree.
