Hill & Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Harold Rumfelt and the Rev. Carl Lee Ousley. Burial was in Southampton, Franklin. Pallbearers were Joseph Bradshaw, Linwood Duck, Chesley Mumford, Dr. C.C. Crossland, J.J. Carr, L.L. Pool, Ryland Duck and Joel Clinton Bradshaw. Darden, 58, died Sunday at 1:20 p.m. in his home after an illness of several months. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a member of Boaz Presbyterian Church and Carrsville Hunt Club. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Elsie Price Darden and a son of the late Mills William (Billy) and Mrs. Betsy Carr Darden. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy D. Perry and Mrs. Audrey D. Carr, of Carrsville; a son W.L. Darden Jr., and a sister, Mrs. Isaac Benton, both of Windsor; two brothers, Mills William Darden Jr. of Windsor and Joseph H. Darden of Carrsville; and seven grandchildren.
