A native of Southampton County, he was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. He was retired from Union Camp Corp. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Peggy D. Feher of Norfolk and Mrs. Connie B. Sheppard of Charleston Heights, S.C.; three sons, Michael T. Drewry Sr. of Windsor, and David L. Drewry and Oscar W. Drewry of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lee Holland of Courtland, Miss Ruth Drewry of Franklin, and Mrs. Joyce Berry of Chesapeake; a brother, Jake Drewry of Lawrenceville; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of David Drewry, 700 Canterbury Court, Franklin.
