All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ FRANCES MILDRED DREWRY Frances Mildred Drewry, 15 years of age, daughter of Reginald and Mildred Drewry of the Black Creek community died Sunday morning, September 2, after a few months illness. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and attended services regularly until ill health prevented. She was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her parents and one brother, Wilbur Drewry, of Zuni; one grandmother, Mrs. T.J. Blythe; five uncles, R.S., E.A., I.D. and A.E. Drewry of Zuni; Ocie L. Beale, U.S. Army, overseas; three aunts, Mrs. W.E. Senter of Norfolk, Mrs. W.T. Langston, Charlottesville, and Mrs. D.B. Newlin of Arlington, and a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. from Black Creek Baptist Church by her pastor, Rev. W.B. Watson, assisted by the Rev. C.P. Cleveland of Lynchburg. Music was furnished by the choir. There was a large attendance and many beautiful floral offerings. Active pallbearers were: Gurley Corbill, C.C. Edwards, L.E. Beale, Talmage Edwards, C.W. Bulls and H.M. Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were her Sunday school class. Burial was at home in the family cemetery.
