Drewry was conducted Friday at 4 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. C.L. Gatlin of Sedley Baptist Church and the Rev. Robert Smith of Courtland Baptist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aggie Joyner, Harwood Babb, Ben Babb, David Kitchen, B.H. Ward, Rainey Hundley, Edward Bond Sr., and F.F. Powell. Drewry, 53, died Wednesday in a Richmond hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Gladys Cutchin* Drewry and a son of John B. and Mrs. Lottie Munford Drewry. A native of Southampton County, he was a member of Sedley Baptist Church. Manry Hunt Club, and American Legion. He was a World War II veteran. Besides his widow, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Janet Cooke of Ahoskie, N.C., and Miss Diane Drewry of Courtland; a stepson, George Story Jr.; three sisters, Miss Ruth Drewry of Sedley, Mrs. D.A. Giarmono of Portsmouth, and Mrs. L.H. Holland of Courtland; two brothers, Benjamin H. Drewry of Norfolk and Charlie Drewry of Franklin; and four grandchildren.
