DREWRY Funeral services for Miss Lucie Thomas Myrick Drewry, 63, of Norfolk, a former resident of Southampton County, who died Thursday morning, April 18, at Norfolk General Hospital after an illness of several months, were conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home. Dr. Edgar A. Potts, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, Norfolk, officiated. Miss Drewry was born in Oxford, N.C., and was the only daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mrs. Lucie Morecock Drewry of Southampton County. She was for many years librarian at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, and for the past three years was librarian of the Brambleton Branch of the Norfolk Public Library. Miss Drewry was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, and obtained her library training at Emory Library School, now Carnegie, in Atlanta, from which she graduated in 1927. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and lived at 1019 Shirley Avenue. Her survivors include several first cousins. Burial was in the Drewry family cemetery near Drewryville. Active pallbearers were W.H. Daughtrey, V.K, Daughtrey, Jr., E.V. Carlton, L.P. Jervey, William Page Drewry and George Prince.
